Reviews of inn at meander plantation1/7/2024 ![]() ![]() Our entrée was cold and the whole dinner took 3 hours to get through! I’m all for slowing down and enjoying a meal, but there was just too much time between each course. He was right and, unfortunately, we couldn’t get out of it. I was afraid we might have a problem when one of the locals we were talking to told us that we should eat elsewhere because the meals would not be worth the money. Dinner cost $65 per person and it just wasn’t that good. DINNER/FOOD: Another problem with this inn is that you are required to buy dinner when you stay there. If you did not slam the door shut, the lock would not work and you could simply push the door open, even though the lock was set. It also appeared that the lock on the door had been damaged (there is a huge gash in the door frame). No shower either – just a hand-help nozzle in the bathtub, but at least this was mentioned in the room description. Not so private and cozy – and forget romantic! There were also huge burn holes in the sheers in the main room and bathroom – a space heater set too close? There was a very nice whirlpool tub in the room, but the water pressure was so low it took forever to fill. ![]() Granted the doors open up to an uninhabited landscape, but several of the guests would walk back there with their dogs. So there were only thin, see-through sheers between us and a large set of glass doors and the back yard. At night we went to close the drapery over the sliding glass doors and the heavier drapes and sheers are attached to the SAME rod all in a row. It is so small that the only place to hang clothes is a collapsible rod attached rather clumsily to the wall. It was not a cottage - it was connected to several other rooms - and it was very small. ROOM: We stayed in one of the most expensive rooms at the inn, which was advertised as a cottage. A quicker reservation confirmation email would have been more efficient & professional. RESERVATION: Since I had not received any kind of email or other confirmation, I had to call the inn back days after making an online reservation to make sure they had gotten my information. We have been to several B&Bs and for the money we paid here, our expectations were not met. The plantation is beautiful and the owners are nice, but this place was problematic on many levels. Not so private and cozy – and forget romantic! There were also huge burn holes in the sheers in the main room and bathroom – a space heater set too. ![]() ![]() ![]()
